As part of the Nubia brand, new flagship gaming smartphones called Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro were announced. At the same time, the devices use a specially designed Red Core 1 chip, designed to process some gaming tasks (processing trigger data, amplifying sound, and vibration, processing lighting effects). Thanks to this chip, it was possible to increase the trigger polling frequency from 450 Hz to 500 Hz.

Both models have a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, support for 10-bit color, and full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
At the same time, the Red Magic 7 model has a maximum image brightness of 600 nits, an image refresh rate of 165 Hz, and a sensor polling rate of 720 Hz. The older version of Red Magic 7 Pro is characterized by 700 nits, 120 Hz, and 960 Hz, respectively. The flagship model was the first in its class to receive a front-facing camera under the display.
The Red Magic 7 series smartphones use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The ICE 8.0 cooling system is used to remove heat from it and other hot components. It includes a fan with a rotation speed of 20,000 rpm, like the previous generation, but additionally implemented a "canyon duct" that connects to a second air intake. This increased the airflow by 35% and lowered the chip temperature by an additional 3 degrees Celsius (16 degrees Celsius in total). The maximum noise level of the cooling system is declared at 28 dB. And optionally, you can use an external accessory Turbo Cooler with a fan, which improves heat dissipation by 17%.
The built-in fan also allows efficient cooling of the battery. The Red Magic 7 Pro is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and 135W fast charging technology that fully recharges the battery in just 15 minutes. The regular version is content with a 4500mAh battery, 120W fast charging technology, and a full charge time of 17 minutes. Both models come with a 165W USB-C charger that can also be used to charge laptops.

Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro smartphones come with Red Magic 5.0 skin based on Android 12, which has a number of gaming optimizations to improve performance. There's also optional Red Magic Game Space software for optimizing game-by-game performance and triggering, and Red Magic Studio for streaming gameplay wirelessly at 120Hz. Also, video can be transmitted via an HDMI adapter or a USB-C port, then the frequency reaches 165 watts. You can also record gameplay at H.264 1080p 120Hz.

The new Red Magic 7 and Red Magic 7 Pro smartphones are already available for pre-order in China, and their actual sales will begin on February 21. Global versions should go on sale on March 10th.
