After announcing about two months ago a new game in the Warcraft series for mobile devices, Blizzard is now revealing the full details. The name of the game is Warcraft Arclight Rumble, and it is more reminiscent of other strategy games that have been successful on mobile devices such as Clash Royale than real-time strategy.

While most mobile strategy games focus on players' battles with each other, Warcraft Arclight Rumble is designed, at least at launch, as a game that focuses primarily on single-player plots and missions. During these missions, the player will be required to place various characters in front of characters to be sent by the computerized opponent. The battle itself will be conducted automatically but will require quite a bit of tactical thought in choosing the most suitable character for defense or attack.

Blizzard promises more than 70 single-player missions, along with daily, weekly, and monthly challenges. Players will be able to play together in front of the artificial intelligence or cooperate, and also attack each other even though as mentioned by Blizzard it is not currently at the heart of the experience but a kind of side training.

Like a lot of games for smartphones, Warcraft Arclight Rumble will be a free game with the option to purchase warriors and experience points to upgrade the characters. Journalists impressed by the existing version of the game claim that at least for now Blizzard is quite generous and there is no real need to pay for the first hours of the game, however this may of course change closer to the launch.

The beta version of Warcraft Arclight Rumble is expected to be offered soon to a limited audience. A full launch is expected towards the end of the current year. Recall that another Blizzard mobile game, Diablo Immortal, is expected to come out early next month. Blizzard itself is expected to pass into the hands of Microsoft next year, as part of a purchase deal that has not yet received final approval from regulators in the United States.
